Getting into iTunes U  

All Kent State University students, faculty, and staff can log in to iTunes U using their Flashline information. The log in URL is: http://itunes.kent.edu/itunes

All faculty who have course sections within iTunes U will log in through the Administrative site at: http://itunes.kent.edu/itunes/admin. This log in allows users to upload files and edit how students will use the course section.

** Firefox users: This web browser may require extra steps befor users can log into iTunes U. Please use Internet Explorer or Safari instead if you are not sure how to proceed with Firefox.

Getting an iTunes U section for your course

Contact your local Educational Technologist or the Helpdesk to request a section. In the near future we will have a more automated system similar to requesting a course section in WebCT Vista.

Creating Content

There are three types of files that can be uploaded into the iTunes U area: Audio files; Video Files; and PDF Files. You can create content well before you have an iTunes U section to upload into. Use the tools below which are linked to tutorials.

Formatting Content to use in iTunes

iTunes only accepts certain kinds of files, so each file that isn't in the correct format must be formatted or converted into the correct file format using tools appropriate to the types of files you have.

Uploading Content into iTunes U

Once you have the files created and in the correct format you can upload them into your course section within iTunes U.
